One of the collaborations appears on the album Nocturnal, titled 'River of Darkness'. The band had multiple collaborations with Timecop1983, another retro synth genre producer. The band went on to perform their second sell-out concert, taking place at the Globe Theatre on Broadway in Los Angeles in November 2017. In 2016, the duo released a 12 track LP, Endless Summer, followed in 2017 with the release of Nocturnal, which spent several weeks as a best seller on the music distribution website Bandcamp and reached number 17 on Billboard 's Dance/Electronic charts in October 2017.

Inspired in part by the score for Drive, and the retro synth genre growing around its release, the pair wrote two singles, 'WeMoveForward' and 'Gloria', that would be released two years later in 2014 as part of their debut EP titled Days of Thunder. The band was formed as a result of Lyle and McEwan meeting during a co-writing workshop in 2012 in North Hollywood, CA.

He also met Justin Moore, who asked him to report back to him if playing the drums get more girls over playing guitar, and if it does, he will have to switch to playing drums like him. LJ was so excited, and Bones arranged for him to come backstage and introduced him to several country artists like Luke Bryan, who told him he has the best name while they talked about hunting and fishing. He also plays drums in his own band called 'Kid Country.' So as a surprise for his birthday, Bobby Bones called him with iHeartCountry Festival tickets for the show that happened in Austin, Texas this past weekend. Back in February, listener Mallory called into the show and said her son LJ, is a big fan of The Bobby Bones Show and loves country music, and he was turning 10 years old soon.
